I’ve had Texas Specials in several of my guitars over the years. My feelings are mixed.
They will sound better than the stock pickups in most non-American made strats, but for just a bit more money you can buy a boutique set of pickups that will sound much better. So basically, I think they’d be a great $125 to $150 set of pickups, but at $200, they’re overpriced in my opinion.
Of course, I only play Zexcoil pickups now, and would never go back.
