Albert King is known for his intense blue bending, and while plenty of people struggle to hit those bends correctly, there's a more subtle thing about his playing that makes it so special: his timing. In this lesson we'll dissect a simple lick taken from one of my courses, and we'll look closely at the timing of the notes. I'll show you a simple technique that can help reveal the timing of the notes within a bar, making sense of something that sounds a bit arbitrary.
