When I started playing guitar, all I could think about was playing fast - mostly because I wanted people to think I was great. Over the years I've learned to think of speed differently, using it as a tool more than as a "destination". In this video I'll share a bit about how I escaped the mentality that speed was all it took to be a great guitarist. But I'll also talk about why I still think playing fast, or rather having having the technical capability to play fast, matters.
