Today’s lesson is about a detail I missed for years in T-Bone Walker’s playing. In one of his signature licks at the very end of a 12-bar solo, I thought he was ending on the root of the I chord, which doesn't sound when played over the V chord. But when I listened carefully, I realized he was actually adding another note to the end of the lick, which ties it in perfectly with the V chord.
