Here's a signature lick from B.B. King that involves a few notes in Box 1, followed by a slide up into Box 1. It works just as well in slow blues as it does in a faster swing blues context. Part of what makes this lick stand out is that we're playing the same note twice but on two different strings. So, the notes sound the same but also slightly different.
