Clapton's playing on the "Beano" album is legendary, partly because of his tones but mostly because of his phrasing. In the song "Have You Heard," he hits a lick during Bar 11 of the progression that highlights the quick transition to the IV chord before the turnaround in Bar 12. This is a great example of how hitting the right target note at the right time can elevate your solo to another level.
