For my 300th lesson I wanted to redo one of my oldest lessons with my current production capabilities. This lick is one of the fastest and most difficult licks SRV ever played, from his performance of "Texas Flood" on the "Live at El Mocambo" recording. I first taught this lick back in 2007 when "StevieSnacks" had just launched.

Thank you Anthony and congratulations on your 300th Free Lesson Friday lesson. Two questions: Are you in the key of Bb? From the flats in the key signature in the tablature that’s what it looks like. Second question: where are you starting the demo in the progression of the song? From the tablature it looks like the 3rd bar, Bb, which would make the 5th bar an Eb. Or do I need a refresher on reading notation?
Hi Paul, I apologize for the mixup but I forgot to set the correct key signature in the tabs. The correct key is F# (or Gb if you prefer). I can’t update the tabs shown in the video, but I have updated the key signature in the SoundSlice tablature.
