Texas Shuffle is a term used to describe the wide-open sound of Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan. In this course, you’ll study a 12-chorus performance in the style of that song - but without all the talking.

In a Quick Fix course, each lick of the performance is shown at regular speed and in slow motion. With the tablature and backing track, you’ll be able to study every lick in detail.

In the song Ain’t Gone ‘n’ Give Up On Love, Stevie Ray Vaughan had a (sometimes) more restrained approach, channeling Albert King with those unmistakable Box 2 bends. Even when he played it live (with more intense soloing), the signature sound of that song could be heard.

That’s the feeling I was aiming to capture in the performance documented in this course. This Quick Fix course is based around an 8-minute demonstration in the style of that song. Four solo choruses and three verses have been chopped into individual licks with tablature and slow motion for you to study.

My earliest memory of wanting to play guitar came from watching Marty McFly play Johnny B. Goode in the movie Back To The Future. That rock’n’roll sound struck a nerve with me, and it’s still one of my favorite styles of music.
