Take a step in to the fun world of syncopation with 5 funk-inspired guitar rhythm parts, played over a 12-bar progression.
Rhythm guitar skills are like muscles: you don’t realize how under-developed they are until you try to use them for something different. Well, this course is different.
If you’ve only ever studied swing, or straight ahead rockin’ blues rhythm, this course will befuddle your brain. Playing on the off-beats is not something most of us are born being able to do, but if you slow it down, you can start working those rhythm muscles with a little bit of funk.
In this lesson we'll cover a few aspects of the course, and learn the first rhythm.
Rhythm 2 is just a bit more difficult than rhythm 1. We'll break it into two levels and work on each.
Rhythm 3 is quite a bit more difficult than the first two, so we'll break it into 3 levels this time.
Rhythm 4 is also difficult, so again we'll study it in 3 different levels.
We end the course on a slightly easier, more bluesy note with Rhythm 5.
