This course will teach you how to solo like SRV in the song Mary Had A Little Lamb, at three different skill levels.
Mary Had A Little Lamb is a tricky song, but not in the way you might think. It’s a little bit of funk, rock and blues all mixed together. The tempo makes it unsuitable for playing really fast and the 4/4 beat means you can’t use your standard swing-based licks. You need to change how you approach soloing to keep up.
What you’re left with is a song that seems easy but when you really begin to push yourself, it presents a new kind of difficulty that you don’t encounter in other 12-bar blues songs. The Mary’s Lamb lessons capture the funkiness, the soulfulness and some fairly complicated syncopated licks that Stevie played live and in the studio.
