This course will teach you how to solo like SRV in the song Mary Had A Little Lamb, at three different skill levels.
Mary Had A Little Lamb is a tricky song, but not in the way you might think. It’s a little bit of funk, rock and blues all mixed together. The tempo makes it unsuitable for playing really fast and the 4/4 beat means you can’t use your standard swing-based licks. You need to change how you approach soloing to keep up.
What you’re left with is a song that seems easy but when you really begin to push yourself, it presents a new kind of difficulty that you don’t encounter in other 12-bar blues songs. The Mary’s Lamb lessons capture the funkiness, the soulfulness and some fairly complicated syncopated licks that Stevie played live and in the studio.
This is the exact solo that you’ll learn in the Beginner lesson.
This is the exact solo that you’ll learn in the Intermediate lesson.
This is the exact solo that you’ll learn in the Advanced lesson.
