Should You Build A Custom Strat?

Description

May 20th, 2020

Have you ever wondered if you should build your own Strat instead of buying a new one? There are lots of things you need to consider before going down that path, and saving money might not be as big of an incentive as you think. In this video I'll walk you through the process of comparing prices for a new, used, and custom built SRV strat. You can use the proces I'm showing here for evaluating any type of strat build, as long as you have a reference model to base it off of.

  • Anthony: Thank you for creating this video. It was very helpful in my thinking about re-acquiring an SRV Strat. I bought a new SRV Strat back in 2016 and for some reason, I found it necessary to sell that instrument back in 2018. I regret that now for sure. Having said that I’ve been looking at used SRV Strats and I have a question. I’ve noticed older SRVs - like 199x and early 200x models. Any thought on how I should prioritize my criteria for purchasing a used SRV Strat? Thank you!
