Sweet Little Thang

This course will teach you how to solo like SRV in the song Pride And Joy, at three different skill levels.

Sweet Little Thang

The Pride And Joy style of swinging blues is deceptively difficult. It feels easy to play over. And if you just want to sound decent, it is easy. But if you want to sound great…. that’s a bit harder. You’ll need fantastic timing, the ability to play both ends of the fretboard, and most importantly - how to incorporate chords into your soloing.

The Sweet Little Thang lessons go way outside the boundaries of the studio recording of Pride And Joy. To really capture the sound of Stevie’s playing on this track I dug through my library of bootlegs, listening to as many live recordings as I could. In those recordings I discovered some common themes that he used in this song - things that push past what’s heard on the album. The solos you’ll learn in these lessons are based on those themes.
