Learn 5 blues guitar rhythms that have a heavy guitar-driven sound and a swingin’ beat.
So Excited, Cold Shot, and Change It from SRV, Born With A Broken Heart, Somehow, Somewhere, Someway by KWS… these songs all have a common thread. They have a heavy, guitar-driven rhythm with a swing beat.
That heavy swing rhythm feel is what you’ll learn in this course. I’ve created five rhythms in that style, each with a different sound. You’ll also learn some muting techniques necessary to play them cleanly.
The first lesson is free to watch. Rhythm 1 is fairly simple, but unless you've already developed great muting and raking technique, you'll probably be challenged quite a bit.
Rhythm 2 has a similar sound as Rhythm 1, but using a series of sliding chords to get a different feel.
Rhythm 3 uses a combination of chords and single note walkups to tie together all 3 chords of the progression.
Rhythm 4 has a minor sound, reminiscent of Born With A Broken Heart by KWS.
Rhythm 5 is another minor rhythm, and is probably the most difficult in this course because of some tricky sliding chords.
