Welcome Back
On this page you'll see an overview of what's happened with the TXBA Locals program over the past 12-18 months.
This will include any courses that have been released (which Locals automatically get access to), new features added to the Pro Player, as well as any new community related features. If you're more interested in what's ahead, check out the TXBA Locals Roadmap page.
Winter 2018/2019
TXBA Locals Forums
In January 2019, we opened the first ever member forums, exclusively available to members of the TXBA Locals.
Clapton's Influence: Crossroad Blues
In December 2018, our first Clapton course was released. The course featured an 84-bar long Crossroads style solo, with a bundle of extras that was only available to customers for a short time, but is still available for all Locals.
Fall 2018
Pro Player Feature - Tabs w/ Backing Tracks
In November we updated nearly all the SoundSlice tablature in our library to include the backing track that matches the piece being shown. This makes it possible to learn a lick from the tablature with the demonstraation audio, then switch to the backing track option to practice it without the aid of the original guitar track. Now for most tabs, you now have the choice of 4 different sources:
- Audio Demonstration
- Video Demonstration
- Audio Backing Track
- Synthetic (generated guitar sound)
New Course: Jump Blues Rhythms Vol. 1
Also in November, we released Jump Blues Rhythms Vol. 1, a Beginner to Intermediate difficulty course that teaches 5 fun rhythms over a fast swing beat.
Summer 2018
Texas Shuffle Themed Courses
Through the Summer and Fall months, we did a cycle of courses about the Pride & Joy "Texas Shuffle" style of blues. The first course taught 5 Pride And Joy style rhythms, and the next two courses taught an extended length Pride And Joy style performance, one in the "Quick Fix" format, one in the full "Breakdown" format. Click on any of the course images below to launch that course in the Pro Player.
Spring 2018
Pro Player Feaure: Comments & Discussion
In late spring, we added a big new feature to the Pro Player that allowed Locals to ask questions and comment on the course they were watching, without ever leaving the player. The new feature appears in the sidebar, and refreshes without reloading the page. This makes it possible to ask a question as soon as you think of it without having to navigate away and lose your place.
Boogie Blues Courses
Throughout the spring months of 2018 we released a cycle of courses focusing on the Rude Mood style: Boogie Blues. The first course tackled the difficult rhythm style, and the other two courses presented a fantastic extended length performance in the style of Rude Mood, but at a tempo that mere mortals can handle.
Winter 2017/2018
New Course: Mayer's Influence - Bring Me Down
In December 2017, we released a wonderful course in the style of John Mayer's song "Gravity". This course taught an extended length performance based on John's dynamic live performance of this popular ballad.
Fall 2017
New Pro Player Feature: Favorites, Browser
In October 2017 we relased a huge update to the TXBA Pro Player that added two fantastic features: a Favorites list, and a convenient built-in content browser
These two features made it possible to quickly find any courses you'ved added to your favorites list, as well as browse through all the other courses on TXBA without ever leaving the Pro Player. Our goal is to help you spend more time learning, and less time searching.
